THIS MUST BE WHY WE BOUGHT THE BOAT! Glorious 24 hours of calm seas and easy sailing. Wouldn’t object if we had a few more knots of breeze but have not had to touch the code zero. Had lots of dolphin visitors last night (one even chattered at me a la Flipper) and a lot of unseen small birds that seemed to flit around the aft area of the boat rather quickly. I assume they’re fishing in the wake? They emit very regular high pitch chirps so you know they’re out there just out of view. No idea what they are and confident they are not bats because we were so far offshore. Perhaps the most exciting thing of all is the ocean temperature has risen 9° since we left Ensenada!!! Covered 125 mile in the last 24 hours. Should arrive in Mag bay exactly a day from now.

Photos are as we left Bahia Tortuga and the middle of the night looking up at the code zero as it is illuminated by the steaming light. American flag is blurred in the center.

Arrived in Mag Bay this morning after a two day sail from Bahia Tortuga. Spent several hours making water and cleaning up the boat because of some hitchhikers we had last night… Weather is definitely getting warmer and the water here is just shy of 78°. Finally went for a swim! We are just around the corner into this bay at Belcher’s Point. Mag Bay is as big and similarly shaped as San Francisco Bay but very little habitation here. There are some fishing shacks and the remains of a commercial pier but mostly we just smell the fish drying racks.
